Eternal Life CBD is fully organic, grown right here in the USA without pesticides, extracted cleanly using supercritical CO2. We offer both a full spectrum CBD oil as well as a broad spectrum THC-free oil using the THC removal process by Folium.
CBDx™ is our enhanced oil. Additional natural (non-structured) terpenes extracted from hemp are added giving it an ideal "headspace" and making it perfect for therapeutic use. It has a strong and pleasant cannabis aroma.
The natural (non-structured) terpenes that we enhance the regular CO2 extract with are not the manufactured ones you can find for sale. They are a special-made extraction and not found in other CBD supplements on the market. We only have them because of our connection with the right growers. They are the reason CBDx has such a powerful aroma and is more effective than competitor products.
CBDx™ is available as a 100% hemp option (hempseed oil carrier), unflavored, peppermint, orange, and as THC-free in all the same flavors. The flavor oils we use are 100% natural, cold pressed or steam-extracted oils, sourced from organic farms.
Aside from the clear longevity benefit that is currently being studied, CBD has several well-researched and established benefits.
One very remarkable benefit of CBD oil is the ability to induce neurogenesis.* CBD promotes an anti-flammatory response in the body, particularly the brain, acting as an antioxidant and neuroprotectant.*
There is one area of the brain that is especially targetted by CBD, which is the hippocampus, an area that is significantly prone to the ravages of aging. It is the assciated with spatial and episodic memory.
In a 2013 study on mice published by Cambridge University Press, CBD induces the formation of new neurons (brain cells).* The formation of new brain cells is one of the body's critical processes that is observed to decline with age, and is directly associated with longer lifespans. (The same reason endorphins correlate to longer lifespans.)*
The most often reported effects from taking CBD are:
• A feeling of relaxation and calm*
• Joints feel better*
• Deeper sleep*
Bone strength is a less obvious benefit of CBD. observed to decline with age, and CBD has a proven ability to promote stronger bones by assisting in the formation of collagen.*
When we've asked people about benefits they've noticed from taking CBD, occasionally someone will note the positive effect on the skin. The reason it helps the skin is the same reason it helps the bones, due to assistance in collagen formation.*
The terpene profile is part of the "Entourage Effect" and enhancing the terpene profile with natural, non-structured terpenes extracted from hemp, amplifies that effect. This what CBDx™ is designed to do.
Terpenes are non-psychoactive hydrocarbons secreted from the trichomes of the cannabis plant. The extract contains dozens of terpenes, mostly found in tiny amounts, and here we will discuss the most important.
• Improves relaxation and de-stressing effects*
• Helps get CBD through blood brain barrier*
• Promotes deeper sleep*
In cannabis Myrcene is the most common terpene and arguably the most important. It is the most abundant terpene in CBDx and the reason we have that strong cannabis aroma that other CBD supplements typically lack.
Myrcene plays a role in helping bring CBD through the blood brain barrier. As a result, it doesn't enhance the effect of CBD directly so much as help more of it get to the brain. The extra myrcene is the main reason CBDx works better and is more effect than competitors.
This is the other major terpene in CBDx, and has a notable analgesic effect (relaxes pain). Other CBD supplements will have only tiny amounts of this terpene, if any. If minor pain relief is part of what you want in a CBD supplement, there is no better out there than CBDx.
• Cellular benefits*
This is another common terpene, but also important. It has anti-inflammatory properties like many terpenes, but also supports apoptosis, and is suspected to play a role in helping CBD in its effects on cell activity. It is not exclusive to CBD at all, as it is also found in citrus.
• Slows loss of acetylcholine in the brain*
Found in pine needles, Pinene is very common in CBD supplements and the most common terpene in nature. One health benefit of pinene is it being a bronchodilator, but there is another very important one.
Pinene helps with levels of acetylcholine in the brain and some of the mental benefits of CBD oil are attributed to it. Too much pinene weakens the relaxation effects of Myrcene. We think the amount in CBDx is just right, but if your CBD supplement is too relaxing for you, go for peppermint CBDx which supplies extra pinene creating more of a balance.
Our full spectrum oil contains only very small amounts of THC. This small amount of THC is not essential to the beneficial effects of CBD supplements.
What makes a CBD supplement more effective are some of the other cannabinoids (CBC, CBG, CBN, CBD-V) as well as the terpene profile (mainly beta-Myrcene and p-Cymene). This is known as the "Entourage Effect" and the terpene profile of CBDx™ has been enhanced to have what may be close to the ideal profile for maximum effect.
It is commonly said that a small amount of THC makes CBD supplements more effective. This has been found to be true in CBD:THC combinations where THC is supplied in higher amounts to treat pain (2 mg dose or more) after having a cancer therapy. It is more effective for pain when it comes to that.
In the tiny amounts allowed in legal CBD supplements, THC plays no meaningful role as we see it. THC-free CBD supplements can be just as effective for minor pain.*
The broad spectrum THC-free CBD oil we offer is a superior option as a general CBD supplement, in part because many people have to undergo drug testing and those drug tests will sometimes pick up even the small amount of THC found in CBD supplements. CBD supplements sold by other companies might be very low in THC, but they are not THC-free unless they use CBD isolate.
If you want the superior benefits of a broad spectrum CBD oil, but also the benefits of THC-free, Folium Biosciences offers this. According to them, "The absence of detectable THC is confirmed through High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) tests and the State of Colorado." Our own tests have not turned up THC, as would be expected.
All our CBD oil which we market as THC-free is purchased from Folium Biosciences. Their oil meets our quality standards because it is CO2 extracted and grown in farms in La Junta, Colorado under organic conditions.
We also source CBD oil that is grown in Pueblo, Colorado and this farm has an official orgnanic designation. All CBD sold by us has traceability. Both farms grow the hemp in organic conditions and the main difference is in the cannabinoid profile. Other than lacking THC, the THC-free oil has more CBN and CBD-V is lower, whereas CBN is low in the the Pueblo oil but CBD-V is high (for that cannabinoid).
Although CBD is safe to consume straight from the CO2 extractor, it does still contain waxes and it also contains largely unactivated cannabinoids such as CBD-A. There are different benefits in some of the unactivated cannabinoids, but activating them with heat turns CBD-A into CBD, which critical, and makes for a more therapeutic oil in other ways as well.
Winterization is the process of removing the wax from the extract. It involves soaking the extract in pure alcohol. The alcohol is afterward removed along with the waxes. The alcohol can be boiled away leaving behind only extremely trace amounts.
An oven is used to decarboxylate or "activate" the cannabinoids. In this process some of the terpenes are lost. Most CBD oil on the market is decarboxylated, which is not a bad thing, but it is also the reason CBD oil usually lacks that strong cannabis smell, since the terpenes give it that smell.
For this reason we recommend using CBDx™, enhanced with those natural, non-structured terpenes extracted from hemp and in just the right amounts to make it exactly what you are looking for.
THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis, the one that will cause a "high" when taken in higher amounts. In very small amounts THC will not cause this effect, and CBD does not cause it at all.
A relatively small number of sensitive individuals may not tolerate even small amounts of THC. Anyone with a history of mental illness is advised to choose broad spectrum THC-free CBD oil. For those who have no need to undergo drug testing, full spectrum CBD oil is otherwise a good choice.
There has been much press about using THC to treat cancer. We want to make it clear that the THC in our CBD supplements is so low it is not suitable for this purpose. No CBD supplement is, in fact. While using higher amounts of THC produces a high, it is also a strategy to treat cancer that is being investigated.
The kind of oil that is high in both CBD and THC is called Rick Simpson Oil, a true concentrated oil from non-hemp cannabis with higher THC than you would find in any CBD oil supplement.
